Who I Serve

I offer individual therapy to clients above the age of 18 who identify as women. I have a particular interest in supporting women who are recovering from trauma and loss, and I frequently support women who struggle with unregulated moods, excessive anxiety, problematic relationships, or unhelpful perfectionism. I work from a feminist perspective and I am an ally of the LGBTQIA2S+ community. I would describe myself as body and sex positive.

My Approach

Authenticity, integrity, and transparency are very important to me. I take pride in cultivating a clinical environment that allows you to experience non-judgmental acceptance and safety. My goal is that our sessions feel genuine and informal, yet they are effective and knowledge- driven. Over time you can expect 'homework' to keep momentum between our sessions.

I am a Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist who has been working, teaching, and volunteering in social services for over 20 years. I have spent the last 11 years working in outpatient mental health settings and I frequently update my clinical skills and training. l'm ready to use humour, energy, and warmth to customize an integrated and supportive approach that results in increased insight, self-compassion, and skills.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is your hourly rate? The standard fee for a 50 minute virtual session is $160, and $175 for a 50 minute in-person session.

When are you available? I currently offer sessions on Tuesdays (including evenings), and Saturday and Sunday mornings. 95% of my sessions are virtual at this time, but I also have an office location in Whitby. It is not unusual for me to have a wait list of 1-3 months. You are welcome to contact me to inquire about current wait times.

Is this covered by my benefits? Usually. Some plans provide only partial coverage, and they may distinguish between Registered Social Workers, Registered Psychotherapists, and Psychologists. If you hope to use extended health benefits, please review your coverage before proceeding with services. Receipts are offered for submission to your benefits provider or for your income tax deductions. Unfortunately direct billing is not available.
